Please could you pass the following invite on to your members?

The Southern Club is inviting all our neighbouring clubs to help see out the summer in style. This year, we're making our summer bash bigger and better than ever before.

We'll have entertainment for all the family, with powered fly-ins and tandem flights, live music, kids' theatre and much more at our new location in the Sussex countryside.

Tickets cost just £10, including camping and can be bought from our website. Kids go free.

So come and join us for the last of the summer climbs on Saturday 11 September, from 12 into the small hours of Sunday morning.

** Club Curry Night - Weds 28th July

It seems that the Curry house near the Downs is rated very highly.

See the reviews of the Spice Lounge here.
On weds and Thursdays they have a fixed price of £9.95 per head so that is the maximum you can expect to pay.
They have said that they will also do us a deal depending on numbers.
So, please let me know if you'd be up for a Curry on Weds 28th July,
Thanks, James

Our beloved Weather station went bang last week.

A total hardware failure.

Thankfully we have enough funds and a new PC has been procured.

The live weather feed and graphs are now operational but the webcam is proving difficult as it is not compatible with Windows 7.

We are working on a solution.

Massive thanks to Paul Glover our newest commitee volunteer who is resolving all this for us.

** Kite Festival - 18th July
The Dunstable Downs annual Kite Festival is taking place on Sunday 18th July.

I am pleased to tell you that Steve Purdie of Airworks will be attending again with his portable shop.
So this is your chance to try before you buy.
Steve, has limited space so please do let him know if there is anything that you are particulalry interested in and he can make sure that he brings it with him.
Please show your support, attend this event and visit Steve's stand.
We are also after volunteers to man our stand.
In particular any HG pilots who are willing to display a rigged Hang Glider would be really appreciated
