We have now completed installtion and testing of a new weather station.

We have replaced the PC, every weather sensor, all comms equipment and installed a new high resolution web cam.

I think we can safely say that this system is now very stable and reliable. We have given it some strenuous tests.

The only unreliable link is the PC's internet connection but we can't relocate the building to a better area so we are stuck with that.

We hope you enjoy it and we would love to hear about who you are and why you use it.

If you see an image that you'd like a copy off then let us know and it can be emailed to you.

Please do drop us an email (see Contact Us section).

The new high resolution webcam is now online.

You can view it by clicking the "club cam" link above.

However, it is very high res so to view it full screen in all its glory Jon has setup another link. Click on "Club Cam2" at the top

Also I have set it to upload to wunderground. This means we get a daily archive of timelapse videos. Very useful for seeing how the clouds are forming. Or simply to see who was flying when and reminisce about a fantastic days flying.  Let's hope we get one before it's too dark! See:

As some of you may already now, last week Markus Kinch has had a bump outlanding on an XC in windy conditions in Laragne and is in Gap Hospital. He is going to be OK but has broken a couple of ribs and a collarbone.
Markus has also had some concussion and loss of memory. He has been a bit confused about where he is and is still suffering from memory loss abut the incident however I understand the doctors are not unduly concerned and the prognosis is good. They are expecting to repatriate Markus soon.
Fortunately Nigel Bray Clive Belbin, and others are in the area and have done a brilliant job of sorting things out as have the insurance (plug for BHPA insurance and Yvonne Jukes who do a brilliant job).
Clive has already collected Markus's glider and packed up his car.
Unfortunately Markus still doesn't feel able to deal with people contacting him directly but I have  passed on the many Best Wishes to his wife Ros who will pass them to Markus.
It is possible that Markus will be repatriated early this week- currently we are waiting on the doctors decision.
